The stitchpunk's optics slowly opened, blinking groggily. It tried to speak, it's voice a bit out of sorts as it tried it's voicebox for the first time.
"He... Hello?" Its voice was high and feminine, marking this stitchpunk as a female. 68 clicked and whirred in question as he looked at the new female stitchpunk.

42 smiled in relief of her awakening. "Thank goodness...I'm 42, this is 68. You're safe now, you needn't worry. What is your name? Do you remember anything?"

"4-42? 6-68? W-Why..." She coughed a bit, allowing her voicebox to readjust.
"Why are we numbers? Where are we? What are we? You're 42, right?" She motored off, looking all over herself and finally finding her number.
"I'm 60, I guess..." She looked at the other two. "Are there more like us?"

42 nodded. "Yes, there are many like us. I understand your confusion. I remember everything. Come on, if you can walk, I'll tell you everything that has happened to me and what our world used to be. Come, to the Shelter." 42 helped 60 get to her feet.

60's optics widened. "There ARE more? There were others doing the experiment?!" She threw back her head and laughed.
"I can't believe it! He was right! It worked..." she looked at her hands in wonder. "I remember... a little bit... I just can't believe that it actually works. When I couldn't find him... I thought, well, never mind what I thought. It worked!"
68 blinked at the talkative new stitchpunk in wonder. He chirped and whirred a bit, a bit concerned. 60 suddenly glared at him, pouting.
"Of course, my cerebral unit is functioning, you twit! I'm able to reason, aren't I?"

42 thought to herself, 'Wow. She's a talker. Poor 68, I'm sure he didn't mean anything bad. Wait...can she understand him?' She turned to 60. "You had a Scientist too? I'm actually quite new to this, but 68 has been teaching me some. I'm guessing by your energy level that you can walk, so lets go back to the Shelter, shall we not?"

68 simply stared at 60 in shock. She understood him?! He clicked in question and disbelief. 60 stood up, looking at 68 strangely.
"Yeah, I can understand you. Can't everyone...?" She looked at 42's confused expression. "Ah, I see. I must of foreseen this. My friend tended to be...rushed in his work so I might of- wait, then that means you're? OMGZ,YOU'RE ALIVE!!!" She enveloped 68 in a tight hug. "I thought I would never find you!!! We'll talk later, ok?"
She suddenly whirled to face 42. "Had a scientist? I was the scientist, dear. My colleague," she gestured toward 68, who looked hopelessly confused at this point. "He was like an older brother really, and I were looking into the transferring process and he went and transferred himself without anyone knowing... Hehe, there I go again, motoring off. I'm terribly sorry, I have that bad habit of not letting others speak. Now, what has 68 been teaching you?"

42 let it all sink in. Now her posistion had ben changed, "dear"? Was *she* the little one? "68 has been teaching me about life as a stitchpunk...I suppose...And well, I guess I envy you. You were your own Scientist? How fortunate of you....mine was gathering us out in the war, saying that he knew of a safe place, away from the bullets. But all he did was imprison us and starve us until we were too weak to fight back. He then preformed many tests on us and forced us into a body he had made. I watched my best friend die before me during this process, me inside a birdcage after my own transmutation. She died shortly after and now I'm here."

60's face was a mixture of anger and sympathy.
"Oh my... I'm so sorry! That's deeply disturbing to know that someone in my field would do that to anyone... This process was supposed to help people, not hurt them!" She paused a moment, looking concerned. "Do you know if he did the procedure on himself by any chance?"

42 shook her head. "I was badly injured and I had to escape before he did anything else to me. I managed to climb up to a window, but lost my footing and fell 100 stories, but I hit someone running on the way down and I walked all the way to where I am now. It took a long time, becuse the Scientist broke my foot, but I managed in 4 days and 68 helped me get better. I don't know what became of him. If I ever find him though...." She trailed off, a hint of her gargantuous anger in her soft voice. "I'll keep on practicing my fighting, even though I would rather not, for the day that I do find him. Alive, dead, human, or doll."

60 held up her hands in an attempt to calm the seething 42. "42, I can only imagine what you've been through, but if this man is as you say he is... Then he is a force to be reckoned with. You cannot hope to fight him alone and win." She looked over at 68, concerned. "Have you seen anymore stitchpunks around?"
68 paused, thinking a moment, before answering in a succession of chirps and clicks.
"Ah, I see. You're the most recent addition then, 42?" Another burst of chirps and clicks. "Oh, right. I am. Haha, I tend to look at things objectively and often forget to add myself into the equations. Ah the life and mind-workings of a scientist! I hope I didn't offend you with my babbling, 42?"

42 shook her head. "No, you did not. If you have something to teach, I'll always listen. Or any stories. Anything my ears haven't heard before, actually. I remember when I was human, I had ears. I think my human name was....P...Ph...Phebe...? Do you have any knowledge of him? My Scientist? Do YOU need to find somebody?"

60 shook her head. "I don't need to find anyone, no. But if characters like your Scientist has been tinkering with the transferring process, they will give us grief, even in this reduced form."
She smiled at 42. "Phebe, huh? That's a lovely name. Mine was Skye, m'thinks, can't recall too much though, other than the actual process... My goodness, this information is going to bother me now. Do you know his name, by any chance?"

"I remember everything about my life before I became this...The Scientist forgot to wipe my memory. I never caught his name. Wait....wait..." 42 wracked her mind for a few seconds. The Scientist...The Madman.... ~~~ (flashback)
Bombs went off every minute, shaking the ground, causing more and more bricks to fall. A girl shielded her arms from the falling bricks and rubble. Crying, she curled up in an alley and waited for Death to come. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She cried out, hands outstretched. "Wait! I'm a friend. My name is Felice, Duskin Felice. I know of a safehouse. Come with me, quick!" She nodded and ran with him and a group of survivors, to a prison worse than any torment on earth. ~~
42 re-opened her eyes. "His name was Duskin Felice. Thats all I know."

60's jaw tightened when she heard the name. "Duskin Felice... Oh my... this is troubling indeed. I've heard of him, even worked with him once, I believe..." The stitchpunk shuddered.
"To think that I worked with and admired a monster... " She shook her head, looking at 42 sadly. "I'm so sorry, 42..." A noise sounded and the stitckpunks tensed. "I take it the world is still hostile?"
